Alfred Lambourne Competition

The Alfred Lambourne Prize, sponsored by the Freinds of the Great Salt Lake is a competition for artists in a variety of mediums. The artists are asked to create an original work based on the Great Salt Lake and they compete for a $1,000 grand prize. I recently composed a set of seven short pieces for Oboe and Piano based on photographs I've taken around the lake. The work titled Postcards From the Inland Sea was selected as a finalist in the competition. It will be performed live with the photographs at the Eccles Gallery on September 18 at Salt Lake Community College. The grand prize winner will be announced there.
