My Studio Policies

Musically Inclined, LLC Policies

Updated August 22, 2011.

In order to ensure that the student, their parents, and myself are treated fairly I have a number of policies that I would like to be read, understood, and followed. The following are these policies.

  1. Cancellations

If lessons must be canceled I require at least 24 hours notice. Time is important to all of us and I need to know how to adjust my schedule with reasonable notice. If I have at least 24 hours notice of cancellation I will not charge for the missed lesson but will forward your payment to the next week. However, if I do not have 24 hours notice of cancellation I will charge for the missed lesson. Exceptions to the 24 hour notice policy are emergency and illness. In those cases please let me know as soon as possible.

If for some reason I must cancel a lesson, I will also give you 24 hours notice except in cases of emergency or illness as stated above. There will be no charge for lessons I cancel and your payment will be forwarded to the following week.

  1. Preparation

In order to have a productive lesson that is worth your time and money, the student needs to be properly prepared for each lesson. This means that the student brings all lesson materials including all lesson books, flash cards, notebooks etc. It also means that the student should have spent a reasonable amount of time practicing the assigned material from previous lessons. I want to make sure that students are advancing to the best of their ability. If a student exhibits a constant lack of preparation over an extended period of time, I reserve the right to discontinue their lessons in order to teach other students more willing to work.

  1. Payment

Payments are due at the beginning of the month so that I can keep my finances in order. Any cancellations etc. will be factored in to your payment for the following month. Payments are as follows:

  1. Practice

Practice makes perfect! I don’t require you to keep track of your practice time but I do expect you to practice daily as much as possible. The amount of practice time really depends on the student’s level of ability and desire. I will give recommendations in each separate case. If students do not practice I can tell.

I will notify you of any changes that may occur in these policies.
